ABOUT OUR COURSES
​
We currently offer two online Mindfulness courses. Finding peace in a frantic world and our Tools for Wellness course.
Both programmes originate from MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy & MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction): both clinically proven to be at least as effective as drugs for depression and it is recommended by the UK's National Institute of Clinical Excellence - also clinically proven to help with stress, anxiety, sleep, pain, focus, communication, relational issues, the list really is endless. The courses are not just for those with a clinical diagnosis, Mindfulness really is for everyone & can help you optimise youor physical, emotional, spiritual and mental wellbeing.
The courses are held live, online via Zoom by your facilitator Claire. Claire qualified as a Mindfulness facilitator from the Sussex Mindfulness centre & holds her courses & each participant in a warm, compassionate & non judgemental manner.
Sessions will be based around that weeks theme which will lead on from the previous week, having a culmination learning experience. Sessions will be a mixture of -
*Formal & informal Mindfulness practice
* Informal group discussion
* Pair work
* Experiential learning exercises
*Didactical teaching
Please note, what we offer is not a support group or group therapy but practical & experiential skills based course to learn the foundations of Mindfulness, develop your own Mindfulness meditation practice & add to, or start our toolbox of wellness.

HOME PRACTICE
A large part of both courses curriculum is to practice at home (all instruction & audio given) from 10 - 30 minutes daily.
Making the time to do home practice is a challenge that is part of this course and it is really worth doing so. In order for you really to know whether this approach can be a useful part of your life, we encourage to to engage with home practice as much as possible
Whilst these are the recommended home practice times We also recognise that our lives are busy & sometimes this isn’t achievable. We ask you to do what you can, when you can & know that however you practice outside of the sessions is the perfect commitment for you at this time.
Please note that all session are held over the Zoom platform.We do require all participants to keep their cameras on & remain visible throughout the sessions. This is to help us retain a classroom style learning space.

FINDING PEACE
​
The ‘Finding Peace in a Frantic World’ Course is a great introduction to mindfulness. The course is based on the traditional 8-Week Mindfulness Courses (MBSR and MBCT), but the key learning points and practices have been distilled into a slightly shorter format.
The ‘Finding Peace in a Frantic World' course has been developed to teach simple and powerful mindfulness practices to people aspiring to break the cycle of stress, unhappiness, anxiety and mental exhaustion. It promotes taking control of one’s well-being and happiness in a practical and proven way and re-discovering an authentic enjoyment of one’s life.
Designed specifically to help ordinary people who are struggling to keep up with the demands of the modern world. As Mark Williams writes in the book, this will help you ‘understand where true happiness, peace and contentment can be found’ and teaches you ‘how to free yourself progressively from anxiety, stress, unhappiness and exhaustion’.
The course consists of 4, 75-90 minute sessions. Through guided meditations, group dialogue, individually tailored instructions and home assignments, you will learn the essential principles of mindfulness and techniques to build your personal home practice and access the wide-ranging benefits well beyond the course.
At the end of the initial 4 week course you will have the opportunity to extend the course for a further 4 weeks to deepen your learning & extend your skill base.
Course materials - we will be working through the book ‘Finding Peace in a Frantic World’ by Mark Williams. It is a requirement that you purchase this book & read Chapters 1-4 before commencing the course. The workbook is also available on kindle & audible. All available from Amazon
